Summer Reading Program - Recipe Contest!

The theme of this year's summer reading program has a scientific bent - "Literary Elements" - and we thought, it would be appropriate to celebrate that theme with domestic science, aka, the science of cooking.

Yes, this is one of those rare occasions when it is okay to eat your experiments!

From June 1st - August  29th, entrants in the library's Experiment with a Cookbook Contest will compete for a chance to win a $25.00 Trader Joe's gift certificate. The contest rules are simple - Take out one of the library's cookbooks, make one of the recipes inside, tell us about it, and snap a picture!

We'll be posting the results to the blog throughout the summer, here's our first returned recipe experiment:

Entrant: Nancy
Cookbook: The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond
Recipe: "Simple, Perfect Chili"
Difficulty Level: Easy
Would You Make It Again? Absolutely!
Additional Comments: "Very good chili, easy to make. My husband loved it. Spicy but not too hot."
